WHY WE CHOSE NOT TO PAINT THE SHUTTERS ON OUR HOME

The entire inspiration for the start of our company happened when we wanted to sell our home. We wanted it to look its best at a minimal cost. At first we considered painting our vinyl shutters, which looked very faded. Our shutters were black. Therefore, painting vinyl shutters seemed like the only way to go. However, we had been applying a form of Shutter Renu to vinyl siding for manufacturers for years. Thats when we realized we could do the same to vinyl shutters. The idea to start Shutter Renu was born out of a desire not to paint vinyl shutters. So we simply used Shutter Renu to recolor our faded black shutters. Recolor was the only way to go for us.

Painting vinyl shutters was not the right choice for us and we believe it is not the right choice for most of you. If you want to paint vinyl shutters to change the color (from blue to red, etc.) then painting vinyl shutters is the best approach. However, we would strongly recommend applying Shutter Renu after the paint has dried. Applying Shutter Renu to freshly painted vinyl shutters will extend the life of the color for 10 years or more.

If you have a large or complicated project and would like expert advice on restoring faded vinyl shutters or painting vinyl shutters and protecting the paint, please contact us and a restoration specialist will be happy to assist. If you have an easy project and simply have questions about painting vinyl or plastic shutters, please contact us and we will be glad to help you choose the best product and process. Even if that means not using Shutter Renu.
