There is a lot in the news lately about all the toxic chemicals in our bodies, homes and the environment. Toxic chemicals are hidden where you least expect them. As a chemist, husband and father of two awesome daughters, I am very concerned about all the toxins in and around our home.
It is possible to switch to a semi-transparent stain when the deck needs to be refinished. Even if the deck has been coated with a clear or transparent stain for many years, an oil-based semi-transparent stain can be applied, provided the wood surface is cleaned.
